We dont have a federation yet

1. create a system where the oil money was taken from states to the federal government

2. The federal government then shared the oil money back to states. ….but with a formula they created.

3.so if a general is from North East for instance…a good retirement package for him…was a state…..whats a state? FAAC recipient. .nothing more.

4. States were created not to drive local development but to take oil money from the oil states and redistribute it….via FAAC

5. Those FAAC recepiant states are not lazy. …they were not created to contribute. ..they were created to receive.

6. Today oil is $30…population has grown….social media is here ..states have been exposed as simply empty shells with 52% of oil money given to governors to spend at will.

7. Some governors build airports, some build state houses, others employ hundreds of aides…..all the same mentality. …spend on maintaining the livestyle of the Executive. ..go and look at the convoy of any state governor.

8. No state in Nigeria has a functional primary health care system or pipe borne water to homes in all Local Governments. ..none…yet we wail oil is $30

9. If oil wasn $100 would the governors build hospitals and provide water in rural areas? NO!

10. Today the federal government is suspending debt payments so states can pay salaries. ..so who will pay the debt?..the FGN of course…how is the FGN funded?…crude oil of course…..
So in effect, we have given the states yet another bailout….yet another oil funded bailout

11. The Local Governments failed and went into extinction years ago….today we are witnessing the failure of states.

12..the solution is not bailouts, its a fundamental shift in fiscal federalism.

13. Return to states the power to change and retain VAT and excise duties. Return the resources on the land back to the states…allow the states to compete and excel. ..scrap Exclusive list for economic issues like railways…separate Local Govwrnments from states, dont pay LGA funds to states, for crying out loud make states functionsal…..not mere recipients of oil money

14. Why cant the Federal Government demand states pass Freedom of Information bill before getting these handouts? Why cant the Federal govt demand a biometric register of state employees…collect the BVN of state employees and pay directly? Why cant a full list of state employee numbers, LGA by LGA, MDA by MDA be put online…state by state…..so social media can verify?

15. If you keep feeding a baby for 54 years….he will remain a baby. . Many states today are babies…they never grew up

Its our problem. …we can fix it
