Line by line analysis of the 2017 FGN budget proposal for the State House show questionable inflation on some line items and duplication of projects previously in 2016 budget proposal. We have identified expenditures we believe need to be clarified by the Budget Ministry.
Clarifications on inflation of allocations
Whilst it is understandable that inflation is double digits in Nigeria, we are seeing rise of 766% on some appropriations from 2016. Clearly clarification is needed

We also ask that the Budget Office posts the detailed line by line 2017 budget breakdown on its website to enable the citizens view where their tax funds are going.
I wonder why the details of the budget are not made available to the public before the president submits it. It would make more sense if these issues are queried in the public domain before they get them approved by the senate.
